Product Description:
This product is white to yellow lyophilized powder in appearance.The maximum absorption wave lengths are 260nm and 340nm.
NADPH is the reduced form of NADP+. In animal, NADPH is a product of the pentose phosphate pathway. The isocitrate dehydrogenase mechanism appears to be the major source of NADPH in fat tissue and possibly also liver cells.1 In plant,NADPH is produced by ferredoxin-NADP+ reductase in the last step of the electron chain of the light reactions of photosynthesis.
NADPH provides the reducing equivalents for biosynthetic reactions and the oxidation-reduction involved in protecting against the toxicity of reactive oxygen species (ROS), allowing the regeneration of glutathione (GSH).2 NADPH is also used for anabolic pathways, such as lipid synthesis, cholesterol synthesis, and fatty acid chain elongation.3 Recent studies suggest that NADPH plays critical roles in neuronal survival and cardiovascular protection.4
Preparation instructions /storage/stability:
It is recommended to store NADPH desiccated at –20 °C, protected from light. It should be stable for at least one yearat –20 °C.
The solubility of NADPH in water is approximately 500mg/ml.
After being dissolute, we do not recommend to store the solution for more than one day.
